What to expect

This bespoke ½ day course is designed to identify the specific dangers within the candidates working environment. In this course Your Health & Safety Company uses a lecture based format with the assistances of a small DVD interaction to engage and inform your staff of the perils relating to manual handling operations.


Course Content

This course comprises of a safety lecture that will explain all the areas relating to safe manual handling operations. Candidates will be informed of:

  • Definition of manual handling
  • Spine & how it works - musculoskeletal
  • Relevant Legislation
  • Risk Assessment - T.I.L.E.
  • Recommended Lifting Weight

By the end of this course every successful candidate will be able to evaluate manual handling activities and risk assess all dangers involving those actions using the T.I.L.E. format. He/she will know where to gain additional information to assist them with their individual areas of concern; thus creating a self-policing and self-controlling working environment where everyone takes responsibility for their safety.


Assessment

The candidate will complete a theory test paper, consisting 25 questions; 5 open questions and 20 multi choice questions. 80% is the required pass mark.

The candidates will be required to complete a small project using their newly gain knowledge thus providing a practical demonstration of their problem solving skills.
This will show, by completing this assignment, that they are able to control a manual handling activities.
