What to expect

This course is designed to create “Internal Company Authorised Inspector” (I.C.A.I).

The candidates selected to attend this course will be made aware of the criteria for Lifting (accessories) Equipment Inspections. The aim is to supply all the knowledge and skill of how to inspect, record and compile a register of lifting accessories within their working environment.

To qualify to attend this course, all candidates must meet the minimum requirements. They must have, and be able to prove, the necessary skills and knowledge of crane operations. They must have worked with or been involved with lifting accessories/equipment of various types.

All candidates will be assisted in their studies by our highly-experienced instructors/examiners who will deliver several safety lectures. These lectures will be given over a period of three days, by means of, power point presentations, visual aids and group discussions. An abundance of literature will be made available pertaining to the identification and inspection of a variety of lifting accessories/equipment.

All successful candidates will be awarded a certificate of competence, verifying their skill and ability. This certification can be used as evidence and a record of their training.

Assessment

On the last day, each candidate will undergo an examination to show their knowledge and understanding of Lifting Equipment Inspections by completing both a theoretical and practical assessment.

The practical examination will be conducted in a one-to-one assessment when the candidate will be asked to inspect several types of lifting equipment, take the appropriate action and record their findings in the correct manner.

They are two theoretical question papers, which will consist of both multi-choice and open questions.
