What to expect

This ½ day course is designed to inform the delegates of the Working at Height Regulations 2005 (WAHR) as amended and destroy the myths surrounding this legislation. All delegates will be given the correct information and guidance that will assist them in identifying Working at Height activities within their work place. In this course Your Health & Safety Company uses a lecture based format, with the assistances of an interactive Working at Height safety DVD, to engage and inform the delegates. It is envisaged at the end of this course that the delegate will receive sufficient knowledge and understanding to be able to take the necessary precautions to avoid, prevent and/or reduce the chances of a fall. Our aim is to create a valuable member of any risk assessment team, able to participate and contribute to your organisations health and safety.

All successful delegates will be awarded a certificate of competence, verifying their skill and ability. This certification can be used as evidence and a record of training.


Course Content

This course comprises of a safety lecture that will explanation of the Working at Height Regulation 2005 as amended. All delegates will receive information on:

  • The Work at Height Regulations
  • The Dangers of Work at Height
  • Employers Responsibilities
  • The Hierarchy of Control
  • Avoiding Work at Height wherever possible
  • Prevent Risk of Falls
  • Minimise Consequences
  • Risk Assessments

By the end of this course every successful delegate will be able to identify hazards and evaluate risks concerning working at Height activities. They will be able to understand and acknowledge their responsibilities in relation to the organisations policies and procedures; thus creating a self-policing and self-controlling working environment where everyone takes responsibility for their safety.


Assessment

To prove their knowledge and understanding all delegates will complete a theory test paper, consisting 25 questions; 5 open questions and 20 multi choice questions, requiring a pass mark exceeding 80% also every delegate will be asked to complete a risk assessment involving a Working at Height activity.
