What to expect

This bespoke course is designed to incorporate the candidate's working environment and the vehicle's manoeuvres. It can be the first step to regaining control of your transport activities as candidates will be shown how to take control of traffic operations by applying risk assessment methods.


Course Content

This course comprises of a lecture that will explain all the areas relating to safe controlled of vehicle movements.

The candidate will be informed of:

  • Responsibilities under Health and Safety Law
  • Hand signals
  • Reversing area checks
  • Communications between driver and Banksman
  • Identifying risk
  • Safe systems of work
  • Reversing vehicles

By the end of the course all candidates will be proficient in the use of hand signals and therefore be able to work in a driver/banksman team. They will be awarded a certificate of competence, verifying they have the ability to correctly take control of vehicle manoeuvres.


Assessment

The candidate will be expected to completing a theory test paper, consisting 25 questions; 5 open questions and 20 multi choice questions. 80% is the required pass mark.

During their practical assessment each candidate will be observed by a qualified instructor / examiner as they organise, coordinate and control vehicle operations safely.
