What to expect

This bespoke course is designed to assist the delegates in identifying the fire hazards within their working environment and take the necessary precautions to prevent or reduce the chances of fire occurring. In this course Your Health & Safety Company uses a lecture based format with the assistances of an interactive fire safety DVD to engage and inform the delegates. They will be given the knowledge to be able to control the risk of fire and what to do should if a fire should occur.

All successful delegates will be awarded a certificate of competence, verifying their skill and ability. This certification is evidence and a record of training that will be recognised and excepted by the enforcement authorities.

What you'll learn

This course comprises of a safety lecture that will explain all the areas adhering to the Regulatory reform (fire safety) Order 2005. All delegates will receive information on:

  • Fire Risk Assessments (FRA)
  • General fire safety precautions
  • Principles of fire prevention
  • Firefighting equipment and fire detection
  • Risk from dangerous substances
  • Emergency procedures

By the end of this course every successful delegate will be able to identify fire hazards and evaluate risks. They will be able to respond to a fire emergency and know their responsibilities in relation to the organisations policies and procedures; thus creating a self-policing and self-controlling working environment where everyone takes responsibility for their safety.

Assessment

To prove their knowledge and understanding all delegates will complete a theory test paper, consisting 25 questions; 5 open questions and 20 multi choice questions, requiring a pass mark exceeding 80%.

During a practical assessment the delegates will be asked to identify their escape routes, fire stations and muster points within their working environment.
